Printing on Sublimation Slate

Printing on sublimation slate is not easy. Blank cost little bit more then mugs or phone case so every time  messing it up is a bitter experience.

Its important to do it right. So I decided to record video of how I do it.

One of the most important items you will need is silicone cooking mat. This will help you distribute heat evenly and will deliver best possible result.

Please note that every heat press is different and you will need to adjust your timing to your needs. If you experience paper sticking to your slates, it will be more likely reducing your time then increasing.

  1. Did you press this upside down? I thought it was white side to the bottom?

No. You don’t print them up side down. There is only one reason people do that. So rubber base it acts as cushion for transfer paper. But this you should invest in the rubber pad as you can see in my video. This is best way to print slates.

I’m putting photo onto slate but it’s really foggy
And can’t see what it is.
I’ve tried different settings heat at 200 c time 400 seconds. Still no joy. Help.

Hi paul i have just started sublimation printing but am having great success with the slates! I was just wondering if you knew if it can be double printed? For example i have printed a photo onto the slate but now decided to add text so can i just print the text and reprint in my heat press without messing up the photo?

You can, if there is enough bright space. But some of the image will transfer back to the slate and it can go little bit pale. I never did it on the slate tho. On mug only ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Paul what is the paper called that you use for printing on to a slate

I like to use TexPrint HR but any decent paper will do. Try avoid cheap papers as mistakes can be pricy ๐Ÿ˜‰ I know! I tried! ๐Ÿ™‚
